Harley-Davidson of Wausau's Rider’s Edge® Academy of Motorcycling isn’t just learning how to ride. It’s a complete introduction to the motorcycling experience.
As we begin our third year of operation, the members of the Rider’s Edge staff and everyone else in our shop look forward to enabling non-riders, returning riders and experienced riders to join the world of motorcycling.
Rider’s Edge New Riders Course is a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of the motorcycling experience. During the 25-hour course, riders learn the basics of riding and how to select proper riding gear. We also provide information on how the various areas of the dealership operate, from MotorClothes® merchandise to Parts, Service to Sales.

| The Rider’s Edge® New Rider Course is: |

- Offered at selected Harley-Davidson/Buell dealerships (like Harley/Buell of Wausau)
|
- The cost for the class is $350 per person. Once the course is completed you will be handed a $50 gift certificate usable at Harley-Davidson of Wausau. - Taught by Harley-Davidson certified Instructors using the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s® Basic RiderCourse Curriculum.
- Indoor and outdoor learning. We spend just enough time in the building to pass along information necessary for the safe operation of your motorcycle, then we go outside to pick up the skills you’ll need to get ready for the road.

- Getting your license. When you successfully complete the Rider’s Edge New Riders Course, you will receive a Skill Test Waiver and an MSF Completion Card. Complete the DMV written test, turn in your skill waiver, and you are a licensed motorcyclist. Use the completion card for possible discounts on motorcycle insurance.

- The best training vehicle. The Rider’s Edge New Riders Course® uses the Buell® Blast®, a real motorcycle that handles, accelerates and stops well enough to ensure a memorable learning experience.

- The whole experience. Find out about all aspects of motorcycling from the people who live it. During and after the course, you’ll have the support of the enthusiastic staff at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Wausau.

| This year, we will also offer the new and improved Skilled Rider Course. The New Skilled Riders Course is a one-day session designed for the rider who is already licensed and just wants to brush up on skills or maybe pick up a few hints and tips on safe and efficient motorcycling. No tests, no stress, just fun and an MSF Completion Card to show your friends and your insurance agent.
